Bernard Linney
President
As President of SouthStar Capital, Mr. Linney provides leadership and strategic direction for the company. Mr. Linney began his financial career over twenty-five years ago in Commercial Banking as a loan officer. He was then recruited from the banking industry into the private sector where he specialized in M&A transactions and specialty finance. While working as a commercial banker and in the private sector Mr. Linney was involved in numerous factoring and asset based lending transactions. A Factoring company that he worked closely with offered to fund his first Factoring pool where he was responsible for obtaining clients, underwriting, purchasing A/R and growing the company. Mr. Linney has built multiple companies throughout his career with two of them exceeding $20 million a year in revenue in less than five years. Mr. Linney also specializes in turnaround management which provides him a unique vantage point for SouthStar’s clients. Mr. Linney encourages a corporate philosophy of understanding a client’s business to help them reach their financial goals.
Mr. Linney served in the 82nd Airborn Division of the United State Army as a paratrooper for six years. He holds an A.A. in Business Administration, and a B.S. in Business Finance. Mr. Linney has also attended the ABA Graduate School of Banking, Six Sigma Quality, ISO 9001, and numerous other Executive Training seminars and designations.

Susan Linney
Chief Financial Officer
Mrs. Linney brings over 20 years experience in the finance industry to SouthStar Capital. Mrs. Linney has an extensive background in the banking industry where she served as Vice President of Huntington National Bank and Vice President of First Bank of Marietta. Over her banking career, Mrs. Linney’s responsibilities included Branch Manager, Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager and Loan Operations Manager. Mrs. Linney was responsible for direct lending for small business products and commercial paper, where she underwrote and booked over $50MM in structured transactions. After leaving the bank she joined a local Factoring company where she managed the Factoring Operations and Invoice Verification divisions.
Mrs. Linney then opened a mortgage banking firm and developed it from a start-up to one of the largest mortgage banking companies in the Southeast with more than $1 Billion in performing loans sold annually. During the 6 years she owned and operated the mortgage company, Mrs. Linney developed and managed a $25M banking line of credit and successfully funded all loans booked on the line by the investors. Mrs. Linney also managed the cash, projected cash flow and managed the operations division of the mortgage company. Mrs. Linney closed the mortgage company in 2008 and joined SouthStar Capital shortly thereafter.

McLean Wilson
Vice President Investor Relations
Mr. Wilson joined SouthStar Capital in 2010 after a career as an Investment Advisor with several financial institutions. Prior to joining SouthStar Mr. Wilson managed an investment portfolio for a number of individual clients throughout the Southeast. At SouthStar, Mr. Wilson’s primary role is to maintain existing relationships with SouthStar’s investors and pursue new relationships as SouthStar grows throughout the Southeast. Mr. Wilson also oversees the Syndication division to ensure SouthStar can meet the needs of our clients.
Mr. Wilson holds a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from Clemson University.

David Von
Vice President
Mr. Von has over 10 years experience in direct lending and finance. Mr. Von has had successful careers at BB&T Bank, Emmco Inc., and GMG Inc. where he held a variety of management, operations, and sales positions. Mr. Von joined SouthStar Capital in May of 2008 and currently works out of the Atlanta Region and is actively involved in the expansion of SouthStar’s sales production team nationwide.
Mr. Von holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Bob Jones University and has a Master’s Degree from the University of South Carolina.

Dan Hankins
Vice President Business Development
Mr. Hankins, a native of Charleston, SC, has 20 years of business development experience and brings a commitment to excellence approach along with many awards and accomplishments in sales and customer service arena. Before joining SSC, Mr. Hankins owned and operated a local trucking company for 11 years. Mr. Hankins also recruits, trains and mentors new Account Executive’s in the Carolina’s.
Mr. Hankins has a BA from the Citadel.

Lauren Wilson
Operations Manager
Mrs. Wilson joined SouthStar Capital in 2011 and works directly with our Chief Financial Officer in SouthStar's Factoring Operations division. She is also responsible for invoice verification, tracking and confirming invoice payments within this division.
Mrs. Wilson holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Clemson University.

Meghan Kelley
Vice President Syndications
Ms. Kelley began her financial career at State Street in Boston, MA where she gained extensive knowledge of financial analysis, reconciliation and risk management. Prior to joining SouthStar Capital, she worked at Cambridge Associates, LLC as an Investment Advisory Services Associate. In this role she served as the primary point of contact for private families, institutions, investment managers and investment consultants. Ms. Kelley currently serves as a liaison between syndicated partners and SouthStar’s clients. In this role she internally analyzes potential deals before placing them with a syndicated partner.
Ms. Kelley is a graduate of Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York.
