As an important member of the Sales Leadership Team this position is responsible for business development in an identified geographic market. While acting as the name and face of SouthStar Capital, the Regional Vice President is expected to lead business development in the area by maintaining and growing SouthStar’s presence in the local community.

Because of the extensive relationships in the local market that this position requires, the ideal candidate would join the SouthStar team with an active and growing network in their local banking and business community.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and grow customer relationships through business development calls and active participation in community organizations
  • Participate in corporate strategic planning initiatives
  • Responsible for having some prior knowledge of commercial banking and finance products

Minimum Requirements

  • Five or more years of proven production in the Factoring industry.
  • Ability to source organic (not from brokers) client opportunities from a developed network of known referral partners.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field
  • Prior professional experience in the financial services industry, business development or a related field.
  • Active involvement in the community
  • Basic understanding of the financial services industry and commercial lending
  • Excellent business development and prospecting skills with ability to build strong partner relationships
  • Outstanding communication, organization and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of local industries and current economic conditions

Account Manager (Charleston, SC)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships via excellent customer service
  • Deliver consistent and timely responses, follow-through, and follow-up in response to client requests
  • Maintain a clear picture of client’s business in consideration of future credit increases
  • Help clients with basic product related questions and troubleshoot scenarios
  • Serve as the liaison between clients and the SouthStar underwriting team

Paralegal-Special Assets (Charleston, SC)

As an important member of the SouthStar Capital Financial Management Team, this position is responsible for assisting the COO and CFO with a wide range of Legal Issues including, but not limited to, the assignment of the recovery of specific funding assets.

Seeking Individual Experienced in B2B Financial Services such as AR Funding, Asset Based Lending, Purchase Order Funding, Payroll Funding, Government Contract Financing, DIP Financing or Equipment Leasing.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist COO and CFO on legal policies, documentation, compliance and risk management
  • In-depth understanding of SouthStar’s products and services
  • Maintain strict confidentiality, trust and security of private company and client information
  • Diligent awareness of finance services, products and processes
  • Work with SouthStar Legal Team as required
  • Help manage the documentation process for external clients and internal business partners throughout the documentation life cycle
  • Work on specific asset recovery projects as assigned
  • Manage activities through detailed research and necessary phone work with external recovery resources and internal stake holders, business partners, brokers and sales staff
  • Performs required research to assess risk and documentation requirements on applications and funded resources
  • Ensure documentation conforms to the legal guidelines and policies and standards, including risk mitigation through adherence to SouthStar’s internal and external controls framework

CFO – CPA Required (Charleston, SC)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial and accounting functions and staff withing the company
  • Month-End Close, G/L analysis and reconciliations
  • Assist with the day-to-day accounting operation activities and month end processes
  • Help maintain responsibilities for the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions
  • Provide financial reporting, budget preparation, revenue reporting, and analysis
  • Perform cash flow analysis and forecasting

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), balance sheet and income statement methods, internal controls, and other areas related to financial reporting requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Advance level Excel – Pivot Tables, V- Lookups and Filters).
  • Candidates must have the ability to analyze and solve accounting/financial problems; adapt to changing organizational and operational needs and work collaboratively with all departments, management levels within the company.

Education & Experience

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in public accounting, industry accounting or consulting services industry.
  • Accounting experience should include: Month-end close, G/L analysis and financial reporting
  • Candidates must have a strong ability to communicate (verbal/written) with all levels of management within the organization to meet performance expectations. Candidates must have solid accounting skills experiences.
  • A CPA designation is a plus, but not mandatory

As a member of the Client Services Group you will help ensure the growth and profitability of SouthStar through efficient, accurate, and effective interaction with businesses across the United States. Your typical day will consist of the following:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Interact with Prospects through phone and email communication
  • Enter data and information into Proprietary Software System
  • Interact with Prospects about funding their working capital needs
  • Maintain updated and complete Prospect profiles for future business.
  • Attend Weekly Sales meetings
  • Assist the Management Team, by requesting updated information for better sales results
  • Perform general tasks and other related duties as required or assigned
