Brian Cate
Assistant Vice President
Mr. Cate joined SouthStar Capital in 2017 as Assistant Vice President. His main responsibilities are the implementation and funding of new businesses within the SouthStar framework, including the development of commercial lending opportunities with small to medium sized businesses.
Before joining SouthStar, Mr. Cate owned and operated an international trading company, and has done business in more than 20 countries worldwide. Prior to that, Mr. Cate was a mechanical design engineer working on commercial and government projects for NASA, NIST, and the USAF, as well as private companies in the semiconductor, construction, and medical device fields.
Originally from New England, Mr. Cate has lived in Summerville, SC with his wife for the past 18 years and has three grown children that also live in the area.
